FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Rosanne and Warren Sharratt were sworn in Monday as CASA Child Advocates at the Broomfield courthouse. Rosanne is the founder of Blossom Care Network (BCN), a 501 (c) 3 organization committed to helping children who are victims of sex trafficking or at high risk of being trafficked.
CASA is a community-based program that advocates for the best interests of abused and neglected children. Volunteers—empowered directly by the courts—offer judges the critical information they need to ensure that each child’s rights and needs are being attended to while in foster care.
While our target populations may differ, our goals are the similar, to provide a constant positive adult presence in the lives of children. Last year in Colorado alone, 94 minors were recovered from commercially sexually exploitative environments. The specialized trauma training received from the program will aid Rosanne and Blossom Care Network in assessing the needs of sex trafficking survivors as we work towards opening our first center.
